VISAS AND PERMITS >>

All visitors to India require a Visa and it is each individual’s responsibility to obtain the correct visa.

There are different types of visa (eg Tourist, Student, Business) and different processes depending on your nationality and requirements. The citizens of many countries (including the UK) are offered e-Tourist Visa (eTV) which is Tourist Visa on Arrival. The eTV allows up to 30 days in India and starts from the day of arrival.

To be eligible for an eTV you must fulfil certain criteria and you must apply for the visa on line between 4 and 30 days before arrival. People not eligible or requiring longer in India can apply for a Regular Visa which is given in advance and allows for multiple entry and visits of up to six months.

If you have family links with Pakistan you need to apply for a Regular Visa and the process can be significantly longer. We advise that you obtain your visa before booking your holiday.

The website for applications is: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in

We supply all our customers detailed advice about the application process and offer a Visa Service to our UK customers.

The Republic of Maldives issues visitors a visa on arrival and currently this is free of charge.

In addition to the Indian Visa, a permit is required to visit certain areas of India (including the Lakshadweep Islands). We will arrange this for our customers.
